Christmas Cookie Thoughts

Saturday (December 18) was National Bake Cookies Day, and I celebrated most appropriately! I made 205 tasty yummies (yes, I counted).

Making all of those treats took me all day, giving me plenty of time for my thoughts to wander . . .

Darkness Then

The times were dark. It had been over 730 years since the people had been humbled by Assyrian invaders, and now they lived under Roman rule.

What was it like?

The surrounding pungency of hay, hitting his nostrils for the first time . . .

The cool night air brushing against his newborn flesh for the first time . . .

Think of someone you know that never seems to get flustered. No matter what hurricane of life is howling around them, they seem to stay cool as a cucumber! Does their example leave you longing to have more peace in your life?
