Inveterate: Wednesday Words

If I tried to guess what inveterate means by looking at its parts, I would come up with something like “not a veteran”. Not quite right, I’m afraid.

Yesterday I wrote about being thankful in the face of suffering and trials, even though I personally had a wonderful Thanksgiving celebration with family gathered around the table.

“Everything”? Really??

Today is Thanksgiving in the United States. I don’t know how many of our citizens are actually giving thanks to God as originally intended, or who they’re thanking for what, but followers of Christ use this day as an opportunity to remember the source of all things good in our lives.
