“Look! He comes with the clouds of heaven. And everyone will see him–even those who pierced him” (Revelation 1:7).
“…they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory” (Matthew 24:30).
We will see Him. Are you ready?
“No one knows the day or hour when these things will happen, not even the angels in heaven or the Son himself. Only the Father knows” (Matthew 24:36).
We don’t know when, but we can be ready.
“And this is his commandment: We must believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as he commanded us” (1 John 3:23).
I’d love to know this boulder’s story. How did it come to be home to so many different types of living green things? I can see moss, grass, weeds, and what looks like it might even be a baby mountain laurel over to the right. The smoother boulder in the foreground seems pretty boring in comparison, with just a bit of moss clinging to it. Continue reading Breaking Rocks
On our trip south this past summer, my husband and two of our children hiked up Mount Mitchell, the tallest peak east of the Mississippi. I drove up with our third to “rescue” them from the top! Once you’ve driven as far as you can, there is still a short hike to reach the summit. I took this picture from the top of Mount Mitchell, looking at one of the nearby peaks as the clouds were rolling in. That peak seemed to disappear as the clouds moved in, and even some trees nearby became hard to see. I knew they were still there, even if I couldn’t see them anymore. Continue reading I Can’t See You!
Seeds. The ultimate goal of every seed-producing plant. Yes, plants make their own food, but they use that energy with the final aim of making seeds. Some produce beautiful flowers, but their aim is not to provide us with something to “ooh” and “aah” over; they are attracting insects for pollination…to produce seeds! Some plants flower, then give us tasty fruit, enticing us to eat and then spread…seeds! Continue reading Kingdom Seeds
Last year, my husband decided he wanted to expand his garden. To increase the area receiving direct sunshine, he hired someone to cut down four trees beside our house. This is what all four of them looked like last year. They’re all still out there, taller than I am! But they don’t all look like this anymore. One of them has kept right on growing–maybe not up, but out! I decided to be adventurous and climb on top of it, and show you just how green it is. Continue reading Keep Growing!
Watching the waves crash over moss-covered rock jetties can be quite relaxing. Walking on wet, moss-covered rocks without falling is quite the feat extraordinaire!
Looking more closely, I wonder what life is like for the moss covering these rocks. Continue reading Hold On!
