Baby Love

Let me start by saying that I am not the gooey, super emotional type. But something happened yesterday that melted my heart!

I had been watching my grandson, who is almost nine months old. I was sitting on the floor, watching him play with his toys on the other side of the room. All of a sudden he looks at me, gets a huge grin on his face, and crawls over to me full-throttle! He climbs up on my lap and wraps his arms around my neck. What a feeling!

I wonder if we bring the same joy to our Heavenly Father when we leave our “toys” to spend time with him? We’re never too old to be held by him, and his love is unfailing and never ending. We can come to him without fear because of what Christ has done for us. We are his beloved!

But you, O Lord, are a God of compassion and mercy, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love and faithfulness” (Psalm 86:15 NLT).

“God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him” (1 John 4:9).

“Because of Christ and our faith in him, we can now come boldly and confidently into God’s presence” (Ephesians 3:12).

You are deeply loved, my friend! Spend time today with the One who loves you most.
