WordPress informed me that yesterday was my blogging anniversary. That seems like a long time to be throwing my words out into the atmosphere!
In that time, I’ve written 337 posts (with highs and lows of writing surges and trickles here and there), had over 10,000 views, and gained 559 followers to my blog. Thank you to everyone who has joined me on my journey!
To celebrate this momentous occasion, I’ll share a recap of each year’s most-viewed post. Join me as I look back over the years!
2015: Who Am I?
I shared my thoughts and experience of God’s faithfulness shortly after my son’s brain surgery.
“Who am I? I am a mother who knows that our lives are in God’s hands, and I can trust His plan for my children whether or not I understand it.”
2016: There’s A Storm Comin’!
Not even a year later, we faced a follow-up surgery. How did my heart respond, and what truths did I stand on in the face of the upcoming storm?
“…the clouds are rolling in…clouds of fear, worry, and wanting to rescue him from the pain while knowing that I can’t.”
2017: Seepage
We had recently moved into our current home, and had numerous projects to work on around the house (many of which we still haven’t completed!). What could God be teaching me through paint seeping under painter’s tape?
“We may put borders around our lives just like that tape. Instead of keeping the paint out, we try to keep out the sin! We try to see just how close we can get to temptation without getting tainted. But no matter how careful we are, seepage happens.”
Thank goodness that’s not the end of the story.
2018: Heart Matters
In this post, I share a lesson from the landscaping in front of our house, where our climbing hydrangea just would not give up the ghost. What could we learn from it?
“How often do we have unwanted trespassers in our heart, not noticing the damage they’re doing as they move to take ground in territory that is not theirs to take?”
2019: Baby Love
The person who promoted me to Nana touched my heart, and I had to share!!
Do we see ourselves as touching the heart of God the same way?
2020: Give Way!

How might hiker’s etiquette apply to our spiritual lives?
“There are different kinds of mountains we climb on this journey, and those who’ve made it to the top and are on the way back down need to give way to those still climbing.”
2021: A Few Thoughts from the Other Side
Our whole house got Covid at the same time, near the beginning of the pandemic. After recuperating (mostly), I had a few thoughts to share with the world!
2022: The Root of the Problem
This absolutely cracks me up. Why? Written in November of 2020, I usually get one or two hits a day on this post from search engines. I’m pretty sure folks are looking for a solution, and Google seems to think I have the answer!
Folks click through and read, “We make a choice to clean up our lives, make good decisions, and become ‘good people’. We slap on a bunch of paint, and we look good for a while! But then our sap starts showing. What’s on the inside starts oozing out. We haven’t dealt with the root of the problem.”
Probably not what they were expecting . . .

If you’ve made it to the end of my list, thank you for reminiscing with me! Which of these posts did you enjoy reading?

You’re welcome! Lauri, I was in the hospital 5 days. I have a cancer in my liver, mass on my pancreas, a lesion on my skull, spine, hip, and pelvis. I go to oncologist on Weds to learn treatment plan. Would you pray? My family and friends have been a huge support. 💕🙏🏻
