Tracks or ripples? Your mind can play tricks on you! Here’s another look…
Your perspective can change your perception.
From what perspective are you looking at your life right now? From a mountain or a valley…climbing up or sliding down…sailing along serenely or being tossed by the waves…fighting or hiding…hungry or satisfied…
No matter what season of life we may find ourselves in right now, we can be sure that it will change! On the other hand, God’s truths never change. Here are a few verses to hide in your heart to keep your perception clear, no matter what perspective you find yourself looking out from.
“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made” (Psalm 139:14). You are a special creation.
“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do” (Ephesians 2:10). God has a plan and a purpose for your life.
“Those who know your name trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you” (Psalm 9:10). God is trustworthy, even when we don’t understand our circumstances.
“God has said, ‘Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you” (Hebrews 13:5b). He is always with us.
“And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit” (2 Corinthians 3:18). We are a work in progress! We won’t arrive at perfection this side of heaven.
Not only are these verses good when looking at our own lives, they apply to others, too! Look out and see the wonderful creations made in His image, and see their godly potential. Don’t imprison them in what you see they have been, but see them as they could be. Know that as they submit to God, He will work in their lives. And just as you haven’t been made completely perfect yet, be gracious with them…we are all on a journey to being who God created us and called us to be!
